Completely according to all expectations: Vrouwe Justitia has done her job well. Holland has lost its most recent “superhero” in yesterday’s TdF-stage to Le Grand Bornand. Kenny van Hummel was holder of the red lantern and therefor the worst possible rider in the peloton. It’s supposed to be a reason to be ashamed of, but not for the Dutch media. Losers are to be forgotten, not admired.

The hills are alive, with the sound of cycling. Sweet swift wheels making the noise of draft. No music sounds as well as the mumbling made by the radio from inside the teamcar. Earplugs in and listen to your heartbeat as you climb the steep mountains in the last week of this year’s Tour. Finally the bunch is going uphill again, the only time you open your mouth is to breath and drink, no time to speak…

Yesterday was a great day for working on a bicycle. Average speed didn’t go above 38 an hour. There never was any chance of rain and the peloton behind me only started racing in the last 40K. It was pretty safe on the road thanx to the radioban. For insiders, the bikemessengers who were there @ ECMC2005 already knew the troubles that UCI-officials can cause. So call me a rebel, but I just had to listen to Sporzaradio to follow what was going on in de Tour de Frans.

The Tour de France has been full of craziness so far. Sure, I calculated Menchov was gonna lose some time and we weren’t gonna see Gesink before the mountains came. Cavendish was to be expected in winning a couple of sprints. And, like it or not, Lance was gonna do well. But till now the big disappointment comes from Rabobank and the great surprise is made by Skill/Shimano. Too bad I choose the wrong guys in my team.

Nice going in my Tourteam, Thomas Lovkvist was left at home by Columbia for whatever reason and Lotto silenced Thomas Dekker before the start because of Epo. I gotta re-plan this one the next couple of hours otherwise Tjeerd is gonna win the Tourpoule again. I still got time till one hour before Le Grand Depart tomorrow. Maybe it be better to choose some guy with a better Skill. And don’t forget to fill in the Tourpoule 2009!!!
