Things are going well. Not personally, I mean. But organising the Arnhem Uphill Alleycat is getting along just fine. Start of the race will be at 14:00. I still need two extra person for checkpoints but I know some will come forward, no sweat (and big thanx in advance). But next thing has come up for later that day. In the evening, 20:00 sharp, I’ll be auctioning (more picas on twitter @hautecourier) a shitload of parafenalia, cyclingcaps, fietskoeriershirts and bikemessengerbags for Artsen zonder Grenzen. All collected money will be for sponsoring the Cycloon team on Tour for Life. Kom and spend yor doekoe!!!

She’s fast. “Fashionable” Florien won the Ronde van Klarendal this afternoon. We were invited to come over to our neighbour’s neighbourhood (Het Modekwartier) to help kids ride to the finishline. They did a very good job and had a lot of fun. It was nice to see kids on a bicycle doing a race. Hoogtepunt van de dag was the ladies-race in which our Cycloon bikemessenger competed. She won by several lenghts and got her prize out of the hands of Leontien van Moorsel.
For the courier in white it was weather to feel comfy with. Saturday evening, during the fragile alleycat, the snow wasn’t coming from above, neeeeee. Snow was coming from horizontal direction. So for somebody who couldn’t wear his glasses and suffering from nightblindness it was going to be really hard to win. So glorious victory went to Evil Meneer Eddie from Cycloon. Congrats to him, respect to Guus for organising and big shout of for the prizes of Brainwash and Subwalk!

Tsja, Le mal de tête, zul je bedoelen. This guy is giving me a headache with his imbecile ideas. Cause if last years danger on ice wasn’t enough, it needs a rerun. Now, the weatherforecast isn’t telling us we’re going to freeze our nuts off, but apparently things need to be done right now. So get your guts out of the closet, prepare your tires for slippery conditions and act like a spikey stud. Our good friend Tjeerd is organising insanity to the max in Arnhem, next weekend. I went to Oeteldonk yesterday to have a last talk with Prins Carnaval about D’n Bossche Bol alleycat this saturday. That man put a lot of effort in setting out a madass track. And boy, am I looking forward to this kattebakrace. Everything is prepared tot in de puntjes and it’s going to be a crazy race with picks, drops, planning and luck. My guess is that a out-of-towner is gonna win this one. Hmmm… wonder what first prize will be…

This blog was not really going anywhere the past couple of days, was it? I know, it all because of me. I’m the one to blame. So, it only feels fair to let you in both sides of the story. Sometimes I feel bad (not like Michael Jackson’s BAD or LL Cool J’s bad) as in plain awful. I start looking for German stuff to cheer me up and it’s nicht so einfach. But I think I found remedy for all dis-ease. Or does this dis-please you?

Why I haven’t paid any attention to last CMWC in Tokyo. Even though I’ve always been very busy with what’s going on in messengers world. First of all, I had become a bit de-interested with the bikemessengersscene due to their mailinglist. Spamming the whole world that people should come to the soon to be organised Worldchampionships in (for instance) Amsterdam because they weren’t going to talk about how to get easy drugs.

Last sunday Team Fuccit/Cinelli was invited by the boys from Pristine we played urban bicycle polo in Amsterdam with the peoples from
Imagine Mokum without cars on a sunday. So what is there to do? Nuttin’ much I thought but boy am I wrong. The guys from Amsterdam Fixed Gear called me up and wrote mail to make sure that there will be polo played in the neighbourhood of the Kinkerstraat, the homies from Pristine are doing shop opening, fixie tricks and Da Lord knows what to make this autoloze zondag a happening to remember. Hop on the train and meet me in Amsterdam.
